Conversion Pixel
A conversion pixel is a small piece of tracking code — typically a 1×1 transparent image or a JavaScript snippet — placed on a specific web page in order to record when a user completes a desired action. Common conversions tracked this way include purchases, file downloads, form submissions, and ad clicks.
When a user lands on the page carrying the pixel (often a post-purchase confirmation or "thank you" page), the pixel fires and sends a signal back to the ad server or analytics platform, logging the event against the campaign or traffic source that drove the visit. This allows advertisers and marketers to measure how effectively their campaigns are producing real outcomes rather than just impressions or clicks.
