AdOps

Also known as: Advertising Operations

Advertising operations (AdOps) is a function within a company responsible for setting up, monitoring, and optimizing advertising campaigns. The role sits at the intersection of media, technology, and data — translating campaign strategy into day-to-day execution.

AdOps teams operate on both the advertiser side (managing campaigns bought on behalf of a brand) and the publisher side (managing ad inventory and delivery across owned properties). Regardless of which side they work on, AdOps practitioners rely on AdTech platforms — such as ad servers, demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs), and campaign management tools — to traffic creatives, monitor delivery, troubleshoot discrepancies, and optimize performance against campaign goals.
