Third-Party Cookie

A cookie that is saved under a domain other than the website currently open in the user's browser. Unlike first-party cookies, which are set by the site a visitor is actively viewing, third-party cookies originate from an external domain — typically an AdTech platform embedded on that page.
AdTech platforms rely on third-party cookies to collect behavioural data across multiple sites and to measure the performance of advertising campaigns. Because the same cookie can be read whenever a user visits any site that loads the same third-party script or pixel, these cookies enable cross-domain tracking at scale.
